Still River Partners

Presentations

November 2014

Background: The watershed planning process officially began at the Still River Watershed Summit hosted by the Housatonic Valley Assocation (HVA) in partnership with the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), the Still River Alliance Commission of Danbury, The Angry Beavers, Candlewood Valley Trout Unlimited, and the UConn Center for Land Use Education and Research. By the time of the Summit, HVA had secured funding from the EPA Clean Water Act Section 319 Grants Program and the Fairfield County Community Foundation to create a management plan for the Still River Watershed. Attendees gave presentations on various aspects of the Still River, including history, geography, recreation, water quality impairments, flood management, green infrastructure, and how to move forward with the watershed plan.
