Training the next generation of Still River Stewards

Still River Watershed Connections is a initiative of the Housatonic Valley Association (HVA) started in 2015 designed to connect young people in the Danbury area with meangingful environmental restoration projects and job skill development opportunities in the watershed they call home. 

Projects worked on

  • Wetland mitigation at the Still River Greenway in Brookfield

  • GPS mapping, invasive plant management and water quality monitoring at the Still River Greenway in Danbury

  • Invasive plant management and trail maintenance at Lovers Leap State Park, Still River Greenway in Danbury, and Still River Preserve

  • Riparian planting at Lake Kenosia Beach and Bennett Memorial Park
